Once you have completed the set-up process, you will notice a red Efanz icon on your desktop screen.
Double click on the Efanz icon on your desktop.
After the connection box loads, click CONNECT.
Your modem will then launch the connection and after a few seconds, will connect you to the Internet.
Confirm connection by locating the flashing computer screens typically at the bottom right hand side of your screen.
Most users will have their computer set to launch their browser software upon connection and your home page will then load automatically.
How to Disconnect from the Internet
For security reasons, it is important to properly disconnect from the Internet upon completion of your session. The easiest, and most appropriate way to disconnect is as follows:
Double click on the flashing computer boxes that indicate an active connection. These are typically located at the bottom right hand of your screen.
Click HANG UP.
Wait briefly as your modem disengages the connection.
Changing Your Dial-Up Number
At times, it might be necessary to change the telephone number you use to connect to the Internet. Efanz offers nearly 10,000 local access numbers nationwide to provide options when traveling or as backup should we experience a temporary line outage. These numbers are stored on the High Speed Dial-up Software you installed at set-up. To change numbers, follow these simple steps:
Double click on the Efanz icon on you desktop as if you were connecting.
Click on SELECT on the right hand side of the connection panel.
Choose the new number you would like to use by entering the area code in the right hand corner and clicking once on the preferred number, which will highlight it blue.
Click OK.
Click OK on the reminder if the number is confirmed as a local call.
Note that the "Dialing To" and the "Number To Dial" has been converted to the new access number.
Connect using the normal procedures.
Note: The last number used for a successful connection to the Internet will be set as your default number. To change the number back, simply click on the drop down arrow on the "dialing to" section of the connection box and select the original number.
