Children & The Internet

No question that access to the Internet can be a valuable resource for you and your family.  Unfortunately, there are some negative influences that can be particularly risky for children.

Efanz would recommend the following precautionary tips to help protect your children while online:

  • Keep your computer in a room where usage can be monitored.
  • Subscribe to the Efanz "Filtered" service to limit access to content you feel is inappropriate.
  • Take advantage of the reporting tools on the "Filtered" service to monitor the sites that have been requested on the computer but declined access.
  • Talk to your children about the risks of the Internet and warn them to never provide any personal information over the Internet.
  • Set guidelines or rules for the children for online activity.
  • Limit or supervise access to live chat rooms.
